Our Areas Of Practice

An auto accident can upend your life. Odds are that everybody will be involved in at least one auto accident during their lifetime, and probably more than that. Most of the time, thankfully, these are accidents we can walk away from with little or no medical issues. But this is not always the case.

Our modern society would be nowhere without the energy derived from the oil and gas industry. Oilfield workers are essential to our local, Louisiana and national economies, as well as our way of life. It’s a shame, then, that companies don’t make worker safety a bigger priority on the job site. Instead...

Trucking accidents happen every day and account for thousands of deaths annually. Most truck accidents involve a tractor-trailer as opposed to a single-unit truck. About half of these catastrophic accidents occur on major roads, with around one-third happening on freeways and interstate...

Statistics show that motorcycle riders who get hit by a car can be nine times more likely to be injured than the occupants in the motor vehicle and as much as 37 times more likely to be killed. The reason is obvious. Motorcyclists aren’t protected inside a shell of steel and plastic specifically...

It’s clear that bicycle riders are far less protected than vehicle occupants in an auto accident. Cyclists don’t have safety belts, airbags, or a 1,000+ pound metal body surrounding them. Bicycle riders are even more exposed to an impact than motorcyclists, who at least have the advantage of a...

According to the most recent data in a national study reported by the Insurance Journal, Louisiana is the fourth most dangerous state in the country for pedestrians getting hit by drivers. According to the report, better crosswalks and sidewalks would make walking safer in the state, but...

What Our Shreveport Personal Injury Law Firm Will Do for You

At Rice & Kendig, we offer a free initial consultation on all personal injury matters. When you call, you will speak to an attorney who will answer your questions and set an appointment to meet with you personally. We work remotely as required by statewide coronavirus restrictions but also meet in person to the extent allowable, whether here in our Shreveport offices or wherever is most convenient to you. We are happy to travel to your location when you can’t come to us.

Our firm will handle every detail of your case, including setting doctors’ appointments, getting medical records and police reports, and filing your claim with the insurance company. The less you have to think about, the more you can focus on getting better. Let us focus on getting you appropriate medical care and financial compensation for your injuries; it’s what we do best.

We take personal injury cases on a contingency fee basis, meaning we only charge a fee if and when we recover compensation on your behalf. You pay nothing up front. In short, you don’t pay anything unless we make recovery for you!

You’re Not Just a Case, You’re Family

We treat every client like family and want to make sure you feel taken care of every step of the way. Some of our core values include justice, mercy, truth, and compassion. We believe these values are essential to the practice of law, and each of our attorneys exemplifies these values every day.

We have earned the respect of other attorneys and judges by actually trying cases and getting results. Our firm has the largest reported jury verdict in Louisiana for Fibromyalgia, Kessler v. Southmark Corp., No. 25,941-CA (La. App. 2 Cir. 9/21/94); 643 So.2d 345; and at the time of judgment, the largest jury verdict for wrongful death, McGrail v. Lee, No. 35,756-CA (La. App. 2 Cir. 04/03/02); 814 So.2d 729.

Other significant cases include Perkins v. McDow, Nos. 92-C-2192 and 92-C-2709 (La. 02/22/93); 615 So.2d 312, reversal of “second permittee” rule by the Louisiana Supreme Court and Haynes v. Shumake, 582 So.2d 959 (La. App. 2 Cir. 06/19/91) which required uninsured motorist carriers to conduct their own investigation, rather than requiring the insured to furnish a never-ending list of proof.
